What Is Modern Gunslinger Pistol I?

The Modern Gunslinger Pistol I course is a marksmanship class designed for amateur to skilled shooters looking to improve their overall pistol shooting performance by the end of the course.

We offer an above industry standard experience by sharing modern techniques used competition shooters and military operators.  You will be given a play-by-play breakdown about methods learned from local pros. Critical points covered include an in-depth fundamentals review that will be demonstrated to improve your comprehension of core skills, followed by a variety of drills to help students apply the techniques learned in the class.

Trust and believe that you will leave with enhanced pistol shooting abilities.

Topics will include:
- In-Depth Core Skills Review (Grip, Stance, Aim, Trigger Control, & Follow Through)

- Drawing From the Holster
- Natural Point of Aim
- Recoil Management

- Trigger Reset
- Engaging Multiple Targets

- Strong Hand/ Weak Hand Shooting

Prerequisite: Must have some pistol shooting experience.  

Equipment needed:

- Handgun

- 150 rounds of handgun ammunition (any type)

- Holster: Outside the waistband preferred

- 2 magazines

*Optional but helpful: Magazine Holster/Carrier

We recommend you wear comfortable shoes, long pants, and a long sleeve shirt that you don’t mind getting dirty.

Q: What's included with this offer?

A: The 4-hour outdoor class instruction. You will also get the curriculum sent to you via email after the course. You can buy ammo from your local stores.  Please let the instructor know ahead of time if you will need help getting the necessary amount of ammunition.

Q: Do I need to have a gun to take this course?

A: Yes, this course requires that you have a pistol, holster, and at least 2 magazines. 

Q: I'm a beginner. Is this the right class for me?

A: It depends. This class is perfect for amateurs shooters that who want to learn techniques practiced by more advanced shooters. 

Q: Where is the location of this course?

A: Wallis-Orchard Gun Range is about 20 mins from Fulshear and 30 mins from Katy going in the southwest direction.

Q: How much does the class cost?

A: Currently, this course is priced at $225. That's a lower price than our competitors for a 4-hour course.

Q: What equipment do I need to participate in this course?

A:  A handgun, hearing and eye protection, ammo, 2 mags, and a mag pouch. You can buy ammo from the range or buy it from a local sporting goods store.

Q: Where can I find ammo?

A: You can find ammunition at your local sporting goods stores such as Academy, Dick's Sporting Goods, Bass Pro Shops, Carter's Country, etc.  Some gun ranges also allow ammo to be sold as retail.  Make sure to go to these stores as soon as they open.
